Claudia Chamberland, BA., AQ

Claudia attended Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, with an Army ROTC scholarship and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Military Police Corps upon graduating with a BA in History.  After becoming Airborne qualified and attending her Officer Basic Course at Ft. McClellan, Alabama, Claudia served her initial tour with the 793rd MP BN in Bavaria, Federal Republic of Germany (before the fall of the Soviet Union), as a Platoon Leader, focusing primarily on tactical field operations besides traditional law enforcement activities, and later as the S4 Budget/Logistics/Maintenance Officer for the Battalion.  After attending the MP Officer Advanced Course, Claudia worked for the Commandant of the MP School and has had additional assignments working for Provost Marshals, developing and implementing training programs, and as a MEDDAC Security Officer. 

As a former US Army Major, Claudia is a graduate of the US Army Command and General Staff College and further training includes Program and Budget Administration, Logistical Officer, Counter Terrorism, Military Operations in Urban Terrain, Physical Security, Plane Loading of tactical equipment, Law of Land Warfare and VIP Security. 

Claudia was SCUBA certified by NAUI at the age of 15 through the Boy Scout High Adventure Explorer Post 368 in Central Florida and was a constant dive partner with her adventurous and ardent SCUBA diving father in the Bahamas and also in caves and springs throughout Florida.  She became an Aquanaut in 1993 and has logged over 30 days on more than a dozen undersea missions.

Claudia is  commited to her family of six children and one grandchild, and in as much as possible, keeping her husband out of harms way.


-  Along with her husband, Claudia holds the record for the most acculmulated days working as a married undersea Aquanaut team.
-  Claudia, Dennis along with three of their children comprised the first aquanaut family unit to live and work undersea in 1997.
